A Special Note on Wikipedia

Web Evaluation

What do I need to consider about the sources that I use?

Questions to ask:

  • Besides knowing what my task is, what is critical about each of these sources if I am going to use them to support a claim or provide information about a topic?
  • Does this information seem unbelievable?
  • Does what I read conflict with something I already know to be true?
  • Is there a way to check this information out I know where it is true or not?
  • How do I identify credible sources for an information or research project?
